Halloween at K\u00f6nigstein Castle \u2013 getting there by car or public transport.<\/h1>\n

The castle ruins of K\u00f6nigstein im Taunus are among the largest such historical complexes in Germany.
\nThe castle was built in the 11th century.
\nHowever, the oldest parts of the wall still visible today date back to the 12th century.
\nAs was customary in past centuries, the castle was constantly expanded, improved and rebuilt.
\nThe castle was repeatedly partially destroyed by wars and sieges and then rebuilt with stronger components.
\nIn the 18th century, the castle was largely destroyed and not rebuilt.\n<\/p>\n

The deterioration of the ruins was accelerated from 1796 onwards, as the inhabitants of K\u00f6nigstein kept helping themselves to the stones in order to build more and more houses in what is now K\u00f6nigstein\u2019s old town.
\nA practice that was common and permitted at the time, and which also impacted other historical buildings in many countries.\n<\/p>\n

The castle ruins as we know them today are, as the saying goes, what\u2019s left of it.
\nTowering at 407 metres, the ruins still stand impressively on the western hilltop above the old town of K\u00f6nigstein.
\nEvery day, visitors marvel at the magnificent views over the Taunus, the tall Feldberg Mountain and the Rhine-Main plain.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Getting to Halloween with Park+Ride<\/h2>\n

Parking at the castle is not possible during the Halloween festival. We have therefore set up a bus transfer for you. The buses run every 10 minutes from the car parks to the castle and back.<\/p>\n

Simply follow the signs to the Halloween car parks. Our car park stewards will then guide you on site. Please park your cars only in designated Halloween parking spaces \u2013 thank you!<\/strong><\/p>\n
